so san fermín goes from the 7th of july to the 14th
i dont know what it celebrates
but im sure youve all heard of the running of the bulls
anyway
on the afternoon of the 11th, some friends and i grabbed a bus to pamplona for san fermín festivities
we got there around 7 30 pm
and bought the necessary white shirt and red scarf ensemble (i drew the line at the white pants given that they were all completely see through)
before i continue, some things of note:
wine, sangria, and beer are cheap during san fermín
the cups you are given with which to drink these hold an entire bottle of wine
there are thousands of people
antonio did not go
i had the stomach flu and was not participating
now then, i:
was kissed repeatedly on the hand
listened while someone declared his deeply profound love for me
fielded two marriage proposals
was mooned by one guy while his friend whipped out his dick for us
danced in a parade or two
saw fireworks
met a group of english guys who were supremely drunk and awkward...they kept trying to steal my phone and swing me around but my friends thought they were great*
*watched my friends literally roll around a filthy street with nasty english boys, one of whom had put on a dress
met a couple spaniards in between the meeting and rolling of the english; one kissed my shoulder before grabbing my friend by the face and going for that; she tried to punch him
used a shit ton of disgusting bathrooms, a few of which were meant for men
listened to everyone complain about everything
nearly froze to death
discovered that spain really enjoys both irish and australian themed bars
watched my friend get hit on by a number of lesbians (this happens whenever we go anywhere)
was declared a norwegian
saw some of the running of the bulls before i was made to leave by my still complaining friends
we got back on the bus at 9 am
Who knew it rained in the desert....

The BEST things happen to you. No lie. We can't have fun with randos here, because oftentimes randos in South Africa mean bad, bad, bad things.
At a bar the other night some dude tried to follow me into the stall of a bathroom and close the door behind me. I yelled at him. So did his friend.
Last night I went to an ATL-like club called Tiger Tiger. It was much like ATL in that it was fun, but only like once a semester.
People here try to be very European. It doesn't work that much.
